DFW and Austin run dense cashless toll networks (NTTA TollTag, TxTag-family, TEXpress, MoPac, SH 130). E-ZPass is not Texas. Many desks sell a daily toll package; without it you can get pay-by-plate plus a rental admin fee that dwarfs the actual toll. Ask at pickup whether a tag is on the car and how they bill, then decide before you hop a managed lane just this once.

Heat quietly taxes range and charge speed in summer heat

On a triple-digit afternoon the pack works harder: cabin AC, battery cooling, and sometimes slower DC charging. Rough range loss can sit around high-single-digit to ~10% when temps stay near 95°F+. Precondition on the way to a Supercharger, precool while plugged in, park in shade when you can, and prefer early or evening DC if the session feels throttled.

Move your car when it is done when charging finishes

The moment charging completes, an idle fee can start ($0.40 to $1.00 per minute), and a busy Supercharger adds a congestion fee. There is usually a 5 minute grace to unplug. This is exactly why we nudge you to stop at 80% and walk back before it finishes.
